TR Member Perks!

What was once an April’s Fool joke has now become reality: Ethan & Hila Klein of h3h3Productions have joined PAYDAY 2 in the h3h3 Character Pack according to a news post on the game’s Steam Community page.

For those unfamiliar with the duo, h3h3Productions is a YouTube venture made up of the husband & wife team of Ethan & Hila Klein. The pair gained some notoriety for creating the Fair Use Protection Account in response to a lawsuit brought against them in a fair use dispute on YouTube. They’re well-known for discovering interesting personalities such as Rudy “Hugh Mungus” Pantoja. Now the duo will be raising money in a slightly different way by knocking over banks as playable characters in PAYDAY 2.

Ethan & Hila Klein join the game with a co-op focused perk deck called “Tag Team” that only works when you’re paired up with an ally. Their masks feature signature h3h3 beanies, with Ethan’s sporting his traditional double chin & blue beanie & Hila’s featuring a red beanie and a somewhat nicer make-up job. Players can create their own works of art with the included begins masks should they decide to.

Two new weapons are being added in this pack. The Airbow is a silent semi-automatic weapon with the option for Explosive or Poison Arrows, and the Two-Handed Great Ruler is exactly what it says on the tin: a big honkin’ measuring stick that you can bop people on the head with. You can read about the DLC in more detail at Overkill’s page for the DLC.

Finally, the PAYDAY 2 VR Beta is temporarily offline in order to accommodate this update. If you don’t already own PAYDAY 2, you can buy the Ultimate Edition on Steam for 78% off the retail price. The h3h3 Character Pack is available separately for $4.99 or your regional equivalent. All proceeds from the h3h3 Character Pack will go directly to Ethan & Hila Klein.

What do you think of the h3h3 Character Pack? Do you think it would make an interesting addition to the game? Let us know in the comments below! (Papa bless.)

I've had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven't stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs - I've tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I'm always looking to try more!
