Starbreeze Studios announced new DLC for Payday 2 yesterday that will bring VR support to the first-person shooter. The developer and publisher also announced that its studio Overkill Software is currently working on Payday: Crime War, which is a mobile game coming to both iOS and Android. Overkill Software is the studio that is also developing Overkill's The Walking Dead.
Payday 2's VR mode will make the entire game playable with the HTC Vive. The DLC will also be completely free of charge. According to the description in the teaser trailer for the DLC, the beta for Payday VR will come out sometime in 2017. You can check out the full teaser below:
VR players will be able to play with teammates not wearing a headset. Also, judging from the trailer, it seems that non-VR players will see their VR teammate as a normal PC player using a keyboard and mouse.
Payday: Crime War is a mobile game that does not yet have a release date. However, the game's website does confirm that it will be coming to the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. For the first time ever in a Payday game, players will have the option to chose between playing as either a cop or robber. Payday: Crime War is a PvP multiplayer shooter, and judging from the screenshots, will also be first-person.

Quick Thoughts
It will be interesting to see what Payday VR means for game mechanics like hitboxes. For example, can a VR player who is crouched behind something but blind-firing above himself/herself still get shot as if they weren't crouching? I'm sure questions like this will be answered in due time, but it's still interesting to contemplate.
Either way, I think Payday is a perfect fit for VR, and I'm excited to get my hands on it as soon as possible.
