After releasing a Vox Machina and Bells Hells pre-painted miniature collection, it wouldn't be long before Wizkids followed up and released miniatures for Critical Role's second campaign, The Mighty Nein.

The Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Boxed Set celebrates the Mighty Nein not only at their most powerful but their most complete.

This collection features all of the members of the Mighty Nein including both forms of Sam Riegel's character Nott the Brave and Veth Brenatto as well as both of Talisen Jaffe's characters, Mollymauk Tealeaf and Caduceus Clay.

Inside the Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Boxed Set you'll be able to unbox:

  • Yasha Nydoorin
  • Fjord Stone
  • Jester Lavorre
  • Veth Brenatto
  • Beauregard Lionett
  • Caleb Widogast
  • Caduceus Clay
  • Mollymauk Tealeaf
  • Nott the Brave

The look that inspired each of these miniatures is the party's winter outfits from when they began the final arc of their journey toward Eiselcross. Each character is dressed warmly in colors and styles that reflect their personality.

A standout of Fjord's model is in the details of his face. I have mentioned faces on Wizkids miniatures a fair number of times and how muddled or cross-eyed characters can sometimes look. For Fjord, it's the complete opposite. Their eyes and brows show a piercing glare and his half-orc tusks and beard do an excellent job framing his mouth.

For Fjord that's brown and blue leathers both reminiscent of his time on the sea and foreshadowing his own naval empire, Yasha dresses head to toe in black showing off her reformed Aasimar wings.

Beau and Caleb dress for their comfort leaning heavily into the Monk archetype leaving washboard abs exposed while Caleb continues to wear unassuming clothes. A nice touch for Caleb at this point in his career is the two transparent orbs he's holding meant to represent the roots of his power in fire and Dunamancy.

Jester's look shows off her snow bunny outfit of whites and pinks, complete with an intricate floral pattern. While the candy cane spiritual weapon is an easy easter egg to her powers you can see Sprinkles also peeking out of her coat hood.

The Nott the Brave and Veth Brenatto miniatures are an excellent look at two sides of the same character. For Nott, we have her in her Xhorhas flower girl look, whereas Veth is dressed up for the snowy weather.

Both miniatures proudly wield their crossbow creating a visual link between the two. While some of the finer features of Nott do get lost upon inspection the face of Veth is done to perfection. Looking closer with a camera you can even make out the details of her eye makeup.

The Wizkids Critical Role Mighty Nein Miniatures Caduceus and Mollymauk Miniatures

Mollymauk, not to be confused with Lucien or Kingsley, is showing up in full flair with twin blades raised up over his shoulder. There's a lot of good action going on in his cloak. His sleeves drop to his side while the coattails flare out with fictitious wind buffeting them.

Caduceus also shows good movement, not in his clothing but in pose. Taking a confident stride forward he's almost off his own base. My favorite detail from Caduceus is in the gnarled look of the wood that is his staff. It's little touches like this that immediately convey to the player that it isn't just wood, but a wisened wood.
