Games Workshop is continuing to slowly reveal the initial lineup of Warhammer: The Old World, which will bring the popular miniature wargame back to a setting more familiar to its veteran players.
This time around, we get the confirmation (which won't really surprise anyone) that the Tomb Kings will be among the starting factions when the game launches in early 2024, alongside Bretonnia.
On top of that, we get the reveal of a new plastic miniature that can serve as the centerpiece of any Tomb Kings army, a kit for a mighty Necrolith Bone Dragon.
The kit includes the ability to have the bone dragon ridden by either a Tomb King or a High Priest, each with his own different palanquin.
While the High Priest miniature is sitting, so it needs to go on the Dragon, the Tom King is standing on his palanquin, so if you don't put him on the Dragon, you can actually base him and use him on foot for additional flexibility.
The kit will be available right when the new system launches, so the wait is finally close to its end.
If you'd like to see more of the miniature, you can take a look at a trailer below.
Warhammer: The Old World is basically a prequel to the original Warhammer Fantasy Battle system. It'll do away with the Warhammer 40K-ish round bases introduced with Age of Sigmar and return to square bases and ranks.
It'll also bring back The Old World itself, albeit the setting is earlier in time compared to the original one. I suppose the further away we are from the dreadful mistake called The End Times, the better.
if you'd like to see more, you can check out more Tomb King miniatures, alongside Bretonnian knights. Considering that the Old World has been confined to a digital form in Total War: Warhammer and other video games, it'll certainly be nice for veteran Warhammer players to be back home.
