Update 01/06/2017: While we did not receive a response to our inquires from Wizards of the Coast, the Aether Revolt full spoiler has shown that the final two Aether Revolt Inventions are legitimate Magic: The Gathering cards. The article title has been updated accordingly.

The original story follows below.

On Saturday, December 24, 2016, Wizards of the Coast released information on the Aether Revolt Inventions, the next installment of the Masterpiece Series line of premium product. These cards are special printings of cards which have been highly requested for reprinting by fans of the long-running Magic: The Gathering game; while these cards can occasionally be found in booster packs, they aren't considered to be part of the set and unless they have printings in the set proper, are not Standard legal.

Today, December 28, 2016, the final two cards in the Aether Revolt Inventions line have surfaced, seemingly without source. These cards are significant not only as Aether Revolt Inventions cards, but also as cards in Aether Revolt proper - much like the Gearhulk cycle of artifact creatures from Kaladesh, a few cards from Aether Revolt will also receive Masterpiece Series printings. The final two cards from this iteration of the Masterpiece Series, seen below, are the Legendary Artifacts Paradox Engine and Planar Bridge.

Paradox Engine and Planar Bridge

  • Paradox Engine: Aether Revolt Inventions number 43 out of 54, a Legendary Artifact with a casting cost of five generic mana. Whenever you cast a spell, you untap all nonland permanents you control.
  • Planar Bridge: Aether Revolt Inventions number 45 out of 54, a Legendary Artifact with a casting cost of six generic mana. By paying eight generic mana and tapping Planar Bridge, you get to search your library for a permanent card, put it onto the battlefield, and shuffle your library afterwards.
TechRaptor staff have reached out to Daily MtG Editor-in-Chief and Wizards of the Coast employee Blake Rasmussen to verify the legitimacy of these cards; at the time of writing this article we haven't heard back from him. We'll update this article when we receive any commentary on the legitimacy of these cards.

Our previous coverage of previews and leaks for Aether Revolt cards can be found in our coverage from November 29, December 4, December 5, December 6, December 12, December 15, December 18, and December 24, 2016.
