Games Workshop has released another preview for 2023. The tabletop studio has given its fans glimpses of what to look forward to in the new year, starting with the high fantasy series Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, and continuing with the Age of Darkness in Warhammer: Horus Heresy. Now, the latest Warhammer 40k teaser will give players a glimpse into the future of the company's flagship franchise.

The 2023 Warhammer 40k teaser
The Warhammer 40k teaser for 2023 was announced through a Warhammer Community post. The post opens by mentioning other named units coming to the grimdark sci-fi world such as Grand Master Azrael and the potential mastermind behind the Arks of Omen, Vashtorr the Arkifane. The post continues with an announcement of two new codexes coming to the game in 2023: The World Eaters and the Astra Militarum. The World Eaters are especially important since they were originally part of the Chaos Space Marines, but are now their own army. As for the Astra Militarum, while there have been new units previewed throughout the year, this codex will finally provide rules as well as new mechanics.
Lastly, the Warhammer 40k teaser does provide a sneak peek at several new models. Much like their Horus Heresy teaser, these models are in darkened silhouettes, making it difficult to discern exact detail. But the post does provide some leading hints. GW mentions that Arks of Omen will span four different mission books: each one featuring lore and mechanics for each of its four major antagonists. This includes the Chaos Space Marine Abbadon, the Chaos Daemon Angron, Vashtorr, and a fourth unnamed Xenos character.
With this in mind, it can be speculated that the models may belong to one of these four armies. Furthermore, the post mentions the upcoming Soulshackle expansion for Kill Teams, and how a lot of the conflict will center around the derelict remains of Space Hulks. With that information in mind, it can be speculated that one of these miniatures might be for the ruthless Dark Eldar due to their diverse infantry as well as their need to offer souls to the Chaos God Slaneesh.
