Those of you that ironically, or unironically, enjoy Goat Simulator will probably get a kick out of Human: Fall Flat. It looks almost like a mix of Goat Simulator and Octodad. All I have to say is move over The Witness, there's a new open-world puzzle game in town!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Edk59BqSEU From the trailer above, you will see just about everything there is to know about the game I would imagine. You should also have a relatively good idea of whether or not you would enjoy it.
There will be six levels for you all to explore, all full of physics-based, non-scripted puzzles. It doesn't appear as thou you will be forced to doing something, nor will you be forced to do it in a particular way. How you choose to get by something is totally up to you, there is no "correct" way to do it. So those of you that are looking for just a fun physics sandbox to run around in, Human: Fall Flat may be something for you. Those of you that want a little more as you try to figure out certain puzzles will certainly find something as well.
There's no overarching plot. You play as a man named Bob stuck in dreams where he is constantly falling. Once you get through the six levels, the six dreams, you win. What do you win? I guess that depends on what's behind all the mysterious doors.
I was not a fan of Goat Simulator. The "quirkiness" didn't really grab me, nor did what some people found to be fun glitchy physics. I won't be so arrogant as to suggest this is some sort of "higher form" of what Goat Simulator or something like I Am Bread was going for, but there's a certain cohesiveness here that's nice.
The levels seem to have some interesting themes and fit this dream world they are going for. The everyday objects and other items we've all come across are situated in mostly innocuous ways, forcing us as players to think a little outside the box. Sure, it will be goofy fun for a bunch of it, but to know there's some reasonable complexity behind the puzzles is refreshing. It's "smarter" than Goat Simulator in that Human: Fall Flat seems to be a puzzle game using these physics-based puzzles to do it, where Goat Simulator was almost solely a physics sandbox, with some other stuff tacked on. Both obviously have their place.
So if this is something that grabs your attention, make sure to take a look at the Greenlight page and give it a thumbs up if you deem it worthy.
