This Week In Wargaming – April 17th, 2017

Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.

Games Workshop has finally started their release waves for the Kharadron Overlords, the newest faction for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The Arkanaut Frigate, Arkanaut Company, Arkanaut Admiral, and Battletome: Kharadron Overlords is currently available for pre-order with a release date of April 22^nd. As of this writing, however, all non-digital pre-orders have sold out. There is currently no expected date for restocking, so if you missed out on the online pre-orders, be sure to check your FLGS on the 22^nd.

Forge World has also released the first images of Magnus the Red, Primarch of the Thousand Sons for their Warhammer 30K game system. This version of Magnus comes from the Horus Heresy, so it will be less demon-infused than the Games Workshop version of Magnus the Red. Players attending Warhammer Fest and the Horus Heresy Grand Tournament will have first crack at picking up the newest Primarch, while everyone else will have to wait for the model’s general release.

Steamforged Games has announced four new models for the Hunter’s Guild faction for Guild Ball. The team will be getting a new captain (Skatha), a new mascot (Snow), the team’s first veteran player (Hearne), and a new player (Ulfr). The Steamforged Games blog has posted an in-depth article showcasing the upcoming miniatures. The Hunter’s Guild: Heralds of the Winter Moon expansion is currently available for pre-order with a release date of April 21^st.

GCT Studios has announced the release of new terrain for their Japanese-inspired skirmish game Bushido. Terrain manufacturer 4Ground has produced a series of basic thatch-roofed buildings to help bring the world of Bushido to life. The new buildings will be available from the GCT Studios booth at the Salute convention on April 22^nd.

And finally, Icarus Miniatures has announced a drop in prices for their miniatures. The company has moved their resin miniature production entirely in-house, lowering production costs. Bringing the production in-house will not only lower the cost of producing their models, but it will allow the company to be much more flexible with stock levels and give them the ability to produce models on demand in the future. The prices for single miniatures has dropped from £7.50 to £6.00, and starter sets have dropped from £35 to £25.
