Microsoft has announced the Xbox Game Pass August 2023 Wave 1 lineup.
There aren't too many games headed to the service between now and the middle of August, but what's coming is pretty solid, and there should be something for everyone in there.
First up, masocore platformer Celeste is available on the service right now, as revealed a couple of weeks back. You can play it on PC, consoles, or cloud.
The next game heading your way is the relaxing explore-'em-up A Short Hike, which is coming to PC, console, and cloud on Thursday.
Following that, run-and-gun platformer Broforce comes to Game Pass on August 8th. It's playable on PC, console, and cloud, and will also include the free Broforce Forever update, which adds new campaign content and more.
On the following day, creepy platformer Limbo makes its way to Game Pass on PC, console, and cloud, so if you need a comedown after the adrenaline high of Broforce, Limbo should be perfect.
On August 10th, whimsical management sim Airborne Kingdom comes to PC, console, and cloud, and on August 15th, spacebound looter-shooter Everspace 2 follows.
Here, as ever, is a quick recap of everything that's heading to Game Pass in the first part of August.
- Celeste (today - PC, console, cloud)
- A Short Hike (August 3rd - PC, console, cloud)
- Broforce Forever (August 8th - PC, console, cloud)
- Limbo (August 9th - PC, console, cloud)
- Airborne Kingdom (August 10th - PC, console, cloud)
- Everspace 2 (console, cloud - August 15th)
Sadly, some games must also depart the service, as is customary. Here are the games you should catch up on before their August 15th departure.
- Death Stranding
- Edge of Eternity
- Midnight Fight Express
- Total War: Warhammer III
Xbox Game Pass is available right now on Xbox Series X|S consoles, Xbox One consoles, and PC (the latter as PC Game Pass).
As well as Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft recently introduced Xbox Game Pass Core, which replaced Xbox Live Gold and features over 25 Game Pass titles.
As part of that changeover, the final Xbox Games with Gold lineup was also recently introduced, marking the end of an era.
