CD Projekt Red has announced that it's working on a mod editor for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
In a post on the official Witcher X account, the developer says the mod editor will "allow you to create your own experiences in the game".
You'll be able to do this by either making something totally new or by editing the quests and content that are already in The Witcher 3.
CD Projekt Red hasn't explained exactly how the mod editor will work, nor do we know when exactly it'll arrive.
We do, however, know that the mod editor is slated to come to the game sometime next year, and that it'll be completely free of charge when it does arrive.
If you're a console Witcher 3 player, then unfortunately, you're out of luck; the mod editor will only work for the PC version of the game, sadly.
We'll have to wait and see what CD Projekt Red has in store for The Witcher 3's mod editor, but we likely won't hear anything else about it until 2024.
If you've somehow missed out on the Witcher 3 hype, the game is the third in the Polish studio's Witcher series.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sees Geralt attempting to locate his adopted daughter Ciri, who's fleeing from an ethereal force known as the Wild Hunt.
Originally released in 2015, the game garnered acclaim for its complex storytelling and rich open world. At last count, the game had sold over 50 million copies.
In late 2022, The Witcher 3 received a next-gen update, which also brought a brand new sidequest with rewards inspired by the Netflix Witcher TV show.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available right now across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, and it's also available on Nintendo Switch. The mod editor will be available for the PC version sometime in 2024.
