Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr developer Neocore Games has taken to Steam to discuss the future of the game.

In a post on the game's Steam page earlier today, Neocore addressed rumors that a recent Definitive Edition package and major sale of Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr meant the game would be delisted soon.

According to Neocore, this is "absolutely, definitely not the case".

The studio says it believes in "preserving our work for future players", which means that Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr is "not going to be delisted nor become unusable". This also applies to the game's DLC packs.

Neocore says Martyr was conceived as an online experience, but that in order for everyone to be able to experience the game, an offline mode will be released sometime in the near future.

Along with this news, Neocore also teases an "additional surprise", which should give you something to look forward to if you're a Martyr fan.

The Emperor Protects, and it seems that maxim applies to game preservation as well.

These rumors began to swirl a few days ago, when Neocore announced that a new Definitive Edition of Martyr was being released, replacing the Complete Collection edition.

That, combined with a 90% price drop for both the base game and the Definitive Edition, led many to suggest that the game may be imminently removed from sale or taken offline.

Neocore's announcement should, however, put your mind at rest if you were worried about Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr disappearing.

If you're not up to speed, Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr is an action RPG set in the grim darkness of the Warhammer 40k universe.

The game casts you as a warrior of the Imperium of Man, sent to the Caligari Sector in order to purge it of the malign and heretical influence of Chaos.
