Fatshark announced an upcoming update for its grimdark first-person action game Warhammer 40K: Darktide, ominously titled "The Traitor Curse."
The update will be released at some time in November to celebrate the first anniversary of the original release, which happened on November 30, 2022.
The update coming in November is actually just Part 1 of the update, with a Part 2 to be released in December.
In Part 1 we're getting a new cinematic that delves deeper into the motivations of the Moebian 6th and showcases the Carnival, a disreputable zone of the city promising transgression and entertainment.
The Carnival will also appear as a new Zone with a new mission, enabling players to strike against the heart of the Moebian 6th while fighting against more horses of enemies.
Players will also get the ability to inspect each other's loadout when they're in The Mourningstar, and changes to the Veteran Talent Trees, including the addition of Keystones.
Incidentally, this means that Veterans will get their talent trees reset, so you'll have to reassign your talent points after the update.
At the moment, the content of Part 2 has not been announced, and Fatshark promised another announcement coming at the beginning of December to share more about what we can expect.
In the meantime, you can check out the new features coming in Part 1 in the trailer below.
Warhammer 40K: Darktide is currently available for PC, and Xbox Series X|S. The console version was released at the beginning of last month with another large update(the biggest ever for the game, as a matter of fact) that brought a major class overhaul to the game's depiction of Games Workshop's grimdark future.
