Grimdark action shooter Warhammer 40K: Darktide by Fatshark will soon launch on Xbox Series X|S, and it's carrying along a rather hefty update.
As a matter of fact, it's the biggest yet compared to previous patches, including a full-fledged class overhaul intended to grant players a lot more freedom to spec up and play their character compared to what they had before.
The new and much deeper talent trees let you specialize with much more variety than before within the domains of the previous classes.
Basically, players will still be able to recreate the previous classes if they so wish, but they will also have the capability to go into entirely different direction.
For instance, a Veteran won't just be a powerful sharpshooter, but could opt instead to become a leader able to help out their comrades become more effective, or a stealthy spec-ops-type fighter.
Today we get to see a new trailer showing exactly that.
Of course, PC players should not fear being abandoned (by the Emperor or by the developers), as they're getting the update as well at the same time.
The Xbox Series X|S version of Warhammer 40K: Darktide releases in just a few days, on October 4. Patch #13 will release on the same day for the PC version of the game as a free update.
It'll certainly be interesting to see if this large update and the Xbox release will give Darktide a second chance to success, considering that the original release had quite a few fans, but also drew more than a bit of criticism.
