Today Nexon announced that its upcoming action RPG Vindictus: Defying Fate is getting a public pre-alpha playtest soon, letting everyone try a build of the game freely.

Players will have access to a build that is very early in development focusing on two characters, Fiona and Lann. Incidentally, fans of the original Vindictus may be familiar with Lann, as he's a returning character.

The test will start on Wednesday, March 13, at 6:00 p.m. PDT and end on Monday, March 18 at 01:00 a.m. PDT. It'll be available on Steam.

If you want to take part in the test, all you need to do is to go to the game's Steam page, click on the "Request Access" button, then on the "Game Play" button, and then download the build and play.

Keep in mind that the buttons mentioned above are not available now and will go live when the test starts.

Below you can check out a trailer showing Lann in action against a variety of monsters.

To provide feedback on the pre-alpha build you'll try, you can join the game's Discord server and give your impressions directly to the development team.

It's worth mentioning that while the test is on Steam, Vindictus: Defying Fate is also coming to consoles at some point in the future.

If you're not familiar with the name, this is the sequel of the beloved Vindictus (also known in Korea as Mabinogi Heroes, as it's a prequel of the equally famous Mabinogi), originally released in 2010. The game can still count on a lot of fans today, so it's nice to see a new iteration of the franchise coming.

If you're interested in more news from Nexon, just yesterday we saw a new trailer of Khazan: The First Berserker, while the DNF Duel is getting a new Monk fighter. Both games are incarnations of the well-known Dungen & Fighter franchise, which is another of the publisher's staples besides Mabinogi and MapleStory
