It's time for another look at the UK boxed sales charts, and for the week ending October 7th, a couple of new entries are threatening to disrupt the established order.

Of course, those new entries haven't been enough to knock EA Sports FC 24 off the top spot it claimed last week

Small wonder, since the latest entry in the recently-renamed FIFA franchise managed to attract over 11 million players during its launch week alone.

In second place, it's Ubisoft's back-to-basics stealth adventure Assassin's Creed Mirage, which our very own Andrew Stretch thoroughly recommends you check out.

Third place this week is occupied by another new entry in Nintendo's Detective Pikachu Returns, which once again revolves around Tim Goodman and his gruff-voiced, coffee-loving Pikachu.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe takes fourth place this week, representing a return to business as usual. Will this game ever depart the chart? Probably when Mario Kart 9 comes out.

Hogwarts Legacy is at number five, and with a Switch port on the way next month, we may well see it skyrocket up the charts again before too long.

Sixth place this week goes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which makes sense given the impending release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. You won't be able to play it on Game Pass this year, though, so you'll have to buy it if you want it.

In seventh place, it's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and in eighth, it's Mortal Kombat 1, which managed to reach the top spot in the week of its release.

Ninth place goes to Minecraft, and in tenth, it's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which just refuses to drop out of the chart despite being almost five months old. Good for you, Nintendo.

Eleventh through fifteenth places read as follows: Grand Theft Auto V, a new entry in F1 23The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Game of the Year EditionMario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and another new entry in Cricket 24.
