The UK boxed sales charts data for the week ending January 6th is finally here, and lo and behold, it's still the Wizarding World to which gamers have been flocking.

Hogwarts Legacy retains its position at the top of the chart, having been in the number one spot for the final week of last year as well.

Second place this week belongs to EA Sports FC 24, which has leapt several places to regain the second spot, once again duking it out with Hogwarts Legacy for the gold and silver medal positions.

It's another second place finish for EA Sports FC 24 in this week's UK boxed sales charts.

Last week's second place star Super Mario Bros. Wonder has dropped down to third place this week, although that's not likely to make Nintendo lose much sleep given how successful the game has been.

In fourth place this week, it's Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, which has risen four places. Fifth place goes to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which has dropped a place, although again, we're talking about a game from 2017 still being in the charts almost seven years later.

Sixth place goes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which isn't really surprising; even a Call of Duty game that's been met with more ambivalence than usual is still a Call of Duty game, after all.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III continues to linger in the charts despite some strongly contrasting feelings amongst critics.

In seventh place, it's Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and we may well see the game leap up the charts once again when the New Game Plus update arrives early this year.

Grand Theft Auto V is sitting pretty in eighth place, and in ninth, it's Nintendo Switch Sports. The Switch version of Minecraft brings up the rear at 10.

Here's a quick rundown of positions eleven through fifteen in this week's UK boxed sales charts: Animal Crossing: New HorizonsAvatar: Frontiers of PandoraAssassin's Creed MirageThe Witcher III: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
