Today EA Sports released the first gameplay trailer of the upcoming mixed martial arts game UFC 5, the next chapter of the UFC series.
First of all, we take a look at the graphics and facial animation enabled by the FrostBite Engine. On top of that, the trailer showcases the Real Impact system.
The system focuses on realistic damage, and from what we see in the video, you can really do a number on your opponent.
Interestingly, the damage system enables the strategic elements of doctor checks that can stop a match. Players will have to protect their injuries to prevent the doctor from stepping in or trying to make the most of the opponent's wound before the match is interrupted.
We also see the seamless submission system that replaces the old minigames, which I'm sure many will appreciate.
We also take a look at the various game modes, including the career mode that sees the return of Coach Davis and the introduction of Valentina Shevchenko as an NPC that will help you out.
You can watch the trailer below and see if it entices you to step into the Octagon. If you'd like to see more, you can also take a look at the previous trailer that introduced the game.
UFC 5 releases for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 27, 2023.
