Trails of Cold Steel III, the latest translated installment in Nihon Falcom’s Legend of Heroes series is set to come to PC on March 23. Originally released in English for PlayStation 4 on October 22, 2019, it was originally reported in December that the game is scheduled to be released for Nintendo Switch in Spring 2020 in Europe and North America.

The first game in the series localized by NIS America, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III was originally released in Japan in September 2017 for PlayStation 4 and has not yet been ported to PC. Original PC localization of Trails of Cold Steel I and II was done by XSeed, and there has not been confirmed that progress or saves will be able to be carried over to Trails of Cold Steel III. The PC port is being done by Engine Software and PH3 Games.

Trails of Cold Steel III follows the story of Rean Schwarzer, continuing as the protagonist from the first two games, as he is drawn back to Thors Academy and the new students in Class VII following the kingdom-changing events of the past game. However, instead of returning as a student, he’s now the professor for the same class he once attended! The announcement trailer touts support of up to 240 FPS, completely customizable keybindings, ultra-widescreen support, and improved camerawork, among other upgrades.

Early adopters of the PC version – those who purchase the title before March 30 – will be given unspecified, free cosmetic DLC for the game which is said to contain 26 items. The game will be released on both Steam and Gog.com.
