Creative Assembly and Sega have released a brand new Total War: Pharaoh faction deep dive, this time focusing on the Hittites.
The ancient Anatolian faction will give you two leaders to choose from: Suppiluliuma (yes, that's his real name) and Kurunta. Both will have different strengths and weaknesses.
Suppiluliuma, which never gets boring to type, is an honorable and defensive leader who seeks to improve the morale of his people while also protecting his kingdom against external threats.
By contrast, Kurunta is a cruel hunter named for his people's stag god. He stalks and dispatches his rivals with brutal efficiency, caring little for what his people think of him.
Whichever Hittite leader you pick, you'll get unique features and buildings to enjoy.
Suppiluliuma gets the happiness-increasing Safe Haven and Garrison Quarters, as well as the ammunition-providing Royal Garrison Palace and the Army Supply Center, the latter of which improves melee morale.
His Faction Commands allow him to increase army replenishment, and his Shemsu Hor bonus effect increases his workforce across provinces he holds.
Kurunta, meanwhile, gets special military buildings, including the Military Sabotage Camp, which debuffs his enemies. He also gets the Mercenary Hunting Village, which delivers army experience, and the Mercenary Center, which improves recruitment rank.
His Faction Commands give him superior Razing income but remove his ability to colonize ruins, so you'll need to be careful with when you use them.
Hittites also get special traits: Mistwalker, which lets your units stalk through the fog without being seen, and Storm Warrior, which grants a bonus if you're fighting in rain or storms.
Each leader also has access to special units, with Suppiluliuma getting defensive units and Kurunta enjoying more offensive options.
You can read the full rundown of the Hittite faction, its special units, and its unique traits, right here via the official Total War: Pharaoh website.
Total War: Pharaoh launches on PC on October 11th, with a later release date of early 2024 for the Epic Games Store.
It will bring Total War's signature grand strategy gameplay to Egypt, allowing you to play as leaders like Ramesses and Irsu, as well as various factions including the Canaanites and the Hittites.
