It what might be the strangest announcement you may see this week, Tentacular, a VR title coming to Meta Quest and Steam VR where the player gets to control gigantic tentacles, has been announced. Players are a gigantic beast that's good-hearted and trying to find its place in the world. To do so, you'll use your fully physics-based tentacles (complete with octo-grade suckers) to grip things and move them around. There will be 50+ puzzle and action levels that involve the player building huge structures and contraptions. There's also a "constantly expanding construction sandbox" to mess around with, which sounds fairly interesting.
Raised by humans on the eccentric and bustling island of La Kalma, players will try to unravel their origins while also working as the world's strongest handyman. Players will help their human companions to build and research a strange and incredibly powerful energy source through action-based activities and construction puzzles. By going through your quest in search of answers, players will also unlock elements for their own playground in the creative sandbox mode.
Players will need either the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, or Valve Index to play Tentacular, and the game can either be played in a seated, standing, or room-scale play area.
