Eric Barone, better known as Concerned Ape and the creator of Stardew Valley, has announced that the 1.5 update for his creation would have a new type of farm called a Beach Farm and a new Advanced Game Options menu.

For the curious, the Beach Farm is apparently good for foraging and has lots of open space, and sometimes supply crates wash up on the shoreline. However, it can't all be good news, because sprinklers don't work on the sandy soil. Essentially, it doesn't allow much in the way of automation and gives players free crates in order to make that change palatable, which should be an interesting changeup for players that are used to doing things one way.

What Are the Stardew Valley Advanced Game Options?

  • Players are able to spawn monsters on their farm now, which should shake things up a bit.
  • Players can choose from one of three Community Center Bundles, which include Remixed, Normal, and others.
  • The Guarantee Year 1 Completable option, which allows players to make the seed completable in one year.

Concerned Ape explained that this new bundle will be a "randomized mixture of some brand new bundles and also old bundles", with old ones sometimes popping in as variations. Sometimes a player may need different crops or fish than what would ordinarily be expected, so if a player wants to choose the "Normal" bundle then they are free to do so.

While that's all that's been released recently, there's a lot of stuff that's been announced that will be included in patch 1.5. If you would like to know more, check out the Stardew Valley forum thread here
