Have you been looking for a new farming sim to enjoy? Well, a Harvest Moon Stardew Valley mod might be what the digital farmer ordered. The Welcome to Mineral Town mod brings you back into the world of the classic Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, which was released all the way back in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance. If you're like me and have never played Harvest Moon, the mod adds a bunch of new features. There's a brand-new town and outlying areas to explore, 30 new villagers to befriend, 10 new bachelors and bachelorettes to try and win over, 30+ fish to catch, and 20 new recipes to discover.
If you're wondering why this game in particular has been made into a Harvest Moon Stardew Valley mod, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town is basically seen as one of the best games in the whole series. It even recently received a full-blown remake, so if you end up liking this mod you can check out the game on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam.
If you'd like to give this Harvest Moon Stardew Valley mod a try, you'll need to download and install a bunch of other mods first:
Anti-Social NPCs
BusLocations
Content Code
Content Patcher
Custom Companions
Custom NPC Exclusions
Event Repeater - A useful tool for Content Patcher Modding
Expanded Preconditions Utility
Farm Type Manager (FTM)
Json Assets
Mail Framework Mod
Quest Framework
Shop Tile Framework
SpaceCore
These can all be found on Nexus Mods and shouldn't take you very long to install. Once you do, you're ready to play this Harvest Moon Stardew Valley mod.
As for any other potential questions you may have, Mineral Town is a separate area, so it shouldn't interfere with anything in Pelican Town. To get to Mineral Town, its entrance is on the right of the bus stop screen. The mod can be installed mid-game, so don't worry about your current progress. While an in-game map has been created, the modders don't currently have the skillset to program it into the game, although this might change with the release of Stardew Valley 1.6 "modding focused" update.
