Competitive platformer SpeedRunners came to PlayStation 4 yesterday without any promotion or forewarning. TinyBuild Games instead opted to simply tweet out a new trailer for the game announcing its port to the PS4.
Check out the announcement trailer below:
SpeedRunners is available for $14.99 on the PlayStation Store, or you can get the deluxe bundle for $16.99. SpeedRunners on PlayStation 4 has four DLC packs that you can buy for $2.99 each, and all of them are included in the SpeedRunners Deluxe Bundle.
The four DLC packs are as follows: the Trial Pack, Mr. Quick’s Speedy Bunch, FortKnight’s Fast Faction, and Salem’s Sprint Squad. The Trail Pack simply gives you more cosmetic changes that you can add to your characters, and the other three packs add new playable characters to the game.
Also, a demo for SpeedRunners is available for free on the PlayStation Store.
For those that have never played SpeedRunners, the game is a competitive platforming game that up to four people can play at once, either online or locally. Each player races through the course as fast as they can, and if you fall too far behind, you die and have to wait for the next round. The last person alive wins the round. Along each course, you'll find obstacles like crates and spikes, and you will also find things to help you move along faster like power-ups and speed boosts.
SpeedRunners first started on Early Access back in 2013, after which it was finally rolled out on Steam in April 2015. The game enjoyed a great deal of popularity on platforms like YouTube and Twitch and finally came to Xbox One on June 1st of this year.
According to DualShockers, SpeedRunners has sold over 1.5 million copies.
