Today Electronic Arts revealed the new expansion pack coming to its successful life simulation game The Sims 4, titled  "For Rent."

The expansion releases on December 7, 2023 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Thise who purchase it at any point between today and January 18 will get a bonus in the form of the Street Eats DLC including a grill cart, astreet umbrella, and a fruit basket.

The DLC brings into the picture multi-family lots and the ability to play as either a property owner or a tenant, solving problems and repairing utilities, or causing the problems.

You can build townhomes, duplexes, apartments and more, and experience their little microcommunities and their idiosyncrasies.

Another relevant feature in the DLC is the new world called Tomarang, a town inspired by Southeast Asian culture created in collaboration with Asian-Amrican rapper Jason Chu.

You don't need to be in Tomarang to build one of the new fully customizable multi-family lots, as you can do it in any world. You can experience community events and generate income from property investments.

There are five new aspirations and a new fear (being evicted for misbehavior), while sims who are property owners can enjoy the additional layer of responsibility by performing inspections, repairing broken utilities, and more.

There are also five new traits, Nosy, Generous, Cringe, Child of the Village and Wise (which is specific to elders).

If you're interested in The Sims 4, you may also want to take a look at the previous expansion, Horse Ranch, released in July.

If you prefer something different, but within the same genre, Paradox Tectonic has been working on Life by You, under the leadership of Rod Humble, who previously led The Sims franchise during the launch of the fan-favorite The Sims 3. You can check out our preview while you wait for the early access release next year..
