Today Netmarble announced that it'll release a new game dedicated to the popular fantasy manga Shangri-La Frontier.
The game was revealed with a trailer during a dedicated event, and you can watch it below. It's certainly promising, but no platforms or release windows were announced. While Netmarble is known mostly as a mobile developer, many publishers in that industry have been trying to expand to home platforms, so there is no way to tell, for now.
You can check out the trailer for yourself below. It comes with a mention that all the footage is under development, so it isn't final.
Incidentally, today we also got a new trailer for the upcoming anime series, which will air in October and has already been licensed by Crunchyroll for the West.
If you're unfamiliar with Shangri-La Frontier, it debuted as a web novel series written by Katarina in 2017 and it rose to fame as a manga illustrated by Ryosuke Fuji on Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine in 2020.
The anime series was announced exactly a year ago, on July 7, 2022, produced by C2C. Interestingly, the music is by Keiichi Okabe's Monaca studio.
The story hits the now-common trope of the full-dive VR games like Sword Art Online and is centered on the adventures of Rakuro Hizutome, a rather unique gamer who has forged his skills in trash games full of bugs and uses them to be successful on the best-selling MMORPG Shangri-La Frontier.
