Indie immersive sim Shadows of Doubt has a brand new roadmap, and more content has been added to the game's future plans.

In a new Steam post, developer ColePowered Games says the team has decided to "extend and revise" the initial Early Access plan, as well as the roadmap.

Shadows of Doubt will now be in Early Access for "roughly a year", but extra content has been added, with new updates coming roughly every few months. You can take a look at the new, updated roadmap here.

First up, a new update is coming in September. Titled "Cheats and Liars", the update will add a new side job, a new building, and new NPC interactions.

The second planned update is coming in winter, and will bring initial modding support. ColePowered says more info on how modding will work is coming in future blog posts.

In spring 2024, the third big update will be released for Shadows of Doubt, bringing a social class system that should add some extra complexity to your investigations.

Finally, sometime in 2024, "The Murder Drop", otherwise known as the 1.0 launch, is scheduled. There's no time window for that release, though.

As well as all of the above, the devs are also working on compressing save files, since they can often exceed 100MB in many cases. Hopefully, this should mean that city data can also be stored in the Steam Cloud, making cloud saving more convenient.

Shadows of Doubt is an indie immersive sim in which you must play detective to a "hyper-industrialized 1980s" city full of simulated NPCs. Every nook and cranny of the city, including building interiors, is fully explorable, and your target could be hiding anywhere.

At the moment, Shadows of Doubt is in Early Access, but in his preview of the game, our very own Austin was "very impressed" by the game, recommending it to immersive sim fans everywhere. Be sure to check it out if you love games like Thief and Deus Ex.
