Silica Human vs Aliens

Today Bohemia Interactive presented more gameplay of the upcoming hybrid between a real-time strategy game and a first-person shooter Silica.

While last week we took a look at the gameplay from the point of view of a human faction, this time around we get to see how the alien play, both on the strategic field and in fi... ahem... actually the aliens seem to play mostly in third-person.

If you feel some rather strong Starcraft or Starship Troopers vibes, I wouldn't blame you. This game certainly appears to wear its inspirations on the sleeve. Incidentally,we get to see several different kind of alient units in action, from a simple harvester to the massive Goliath.

You can check out what I'm talking about in the video below.

If you're unfamiliar with Silica, it'll come soon in early access exclusively for PC. It began several years ago as a solo project until it was recently taken under the wing of Bohemia Interactive's Incubator project, with the popular developer of the Arma series providing support.

Below you can read an official description of what you can expect.

Silica is a crossover of FPS and RTS where up to 3 factions battle for control over the planet of Baltarus. Lead from above as Commander, or experience the action first-hand, either alone or with friends. Join one of two human armies, or hunt them down as the territorial aliens. Silica takes place in the scorching deserts of Baltarus, an exoplanet located thousands of light-years from Earth. Lead your faction to victory in Strategy, the flagship game mode. Harvest the Balterium hidden in the sands or defend Baltarus from the invading humans as an insect-like alien.
