Three skins from the upcoming Halloween Terror 2017 event in Overwatch may have been leaked according to a pair of submissions on Reddit. The first thread was posted by Redditor /u/Mnemosynaut and the second thread was posted by /u/Pfieferwolf.
It wouldn't be an Overwatch event without skins being leaked a bit early, and Halloween Terror 2017 is no different. The start date of the event was announced as October 10, 2017, and the tweet making the announcement showed a brief glimpse of skins for McCree and Reaper:

Three additional skins have popped up on the /r/Overwatch subreddit for Mei, Symmetra, and Zenyatta respectively. The images appear to be sourced from Facebook ads, but we have not been able to independently confirm these ads as genuine. Although they look convincing, please remember to take these images with a dose of skepticism as always - one or more of these could certainly be high-quality fakes. Here are the images of the purported upcoming skins for the next Overwatch event:

Some Redditors have speculated that the Mei skin is a Chinese Hopping Vampire (also known as a jiangshi). Reaper's skin appears to have a vampire theme and it generally matches the one shown in the tweet. Zenyatta's skin is a tentacled monster reminiscent of the Cthulhu mythos, and Symmetra's skin appears to be some kind of demon (which some Redditors have guessed to be an ifrit, a type of djinn from Middle Eastern culture. McCree's skin (shown in the video from the tweet) seems to be a Van Helsing-inspired vampire Hunter, making the relationship between his and Reaper's skins all the more interesting. (In the game's lore, Reaper had led the Blackwatch special ops division of which McCree is a part and the two characters have a number of antagonistic remarks towards one another as in-game voicelines.)
If these skins are genuine, they are likely to be classed as Legendary and cost 3,000 Credits apiece. If that's a bit outside of your price range, one can hope that last year's Halloween skins are discounted to regular price just like Blizzard did for 2017's Summer Games event. We've reached out to Blizzard for comment. In the meantime, we'll see whether or not these are real skins in just a few days: the Halloween Terror 2017 event begins on October 10, 2017.
If these skins for the upcoming Overwatch event are indeed genuine, which one is your favorite? Who do you hope gets a new skin for the Halloween event this year? Let us know in the comments below!
