It appears that the rumors of Burnout Paradise getting a remastered version are getting stronger. Gematsu is reporting that Burnout Paradise HD Remaster will be heading to Japanese PlayStation 4s in March of this year.
The source for the information is @Renka_schedule on Twitter, a manager of the Japanese-centric Game Schedule Wiki. The wiki lists release dates & prices for upcoming games in Japan, although the Burnout Paradise HD Remaster title has not yet been listed on the page for the PlayStation 4. The game’s title is listed as “tentative”, meaning that it could change come release day.

Only a PlayStation 4 version of Burnout Paradise HD Remaster has been mentioned at a price of ¥4,104 (approximately $36.33). This doesn’t necessarily rule out a release for other consoles. Brazil’s game ratings board listed a rating for the game on the Nintendo Switch platform in mid-December 2017 before pulling it from their database.
The rumors of a remastered version of Burnout Paradise first began with a Brazilian retailer listing the game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The listed release date for the PlayStation 4 version of the game in Japan is March 16, 2018, which would put it somewhat close to the listed date of March 1, 2018, from the Brazilian retailer.
Criterion and EA have not uttered a peep about whether or not Burnout Paradise HD Remaster is actually a thing, but the increasing tidbits of information from various sources around the world all seem to be pointing towards the game releasing sometime in March of this year. Should they prove true, racing fans will have something new(ish) to look forward to in the new year.
