Today Ubisoft fully unveiled the next season coming to its successful multiplayer squad first-person shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, alongside its new operator.
The new season, which will launch on August 29, is titled "Operation Heavy Mettle" (nice pun, Ubisoft!) and features a South Korean operator codenamed "Ram," as teased a few days ago and as we already knew from the yearly roadmap.
If you want to see an introduction, you can watch the animated trailer below, While Ubisoft keeps calling it "anime" while it obviously wasn't made by a Japanese studio, it's actually rather cool. That being said, it's funny that the description says Ram's squad is attacked by a "massive military chopper"
It certainly looks like a military helicopter of normal size, but I suppose size isn't everything. You can judge for yourself in the video below.
We also get to take a look at the content of the season, alongside the way Ram fights alongside her little tank drone "BU-GI Auto-Breacher" which can pretty much destroy everything in its path.
The season will also include updates for Grimm, Fuse, and Frost, a big change to shotguns to buff them, a new weapon roulette mode in the Permanent Arcade Playlist, and more.
You can check it all out in the video below.
Lastly, we also take a look at the elite skin for Thunderbird in a third video.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege has been available for many years and it's still very popular among fans despite a relatively slow start, contributing rather significantly and regularly to Ubisoft's earnings.
The game is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you're interested in the previous season, which will still be current for a few days, you can take a look at its animated trailer, featuring its operator Fenrir.
