Another month, another lineup of games you're able to grab if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription. The next batch of games have been announced and will be available to get soon.
PlayStation 4 owners have quite a lot to look forward to, the biggest name being Just Cause 3. An open world third person shooter filled to the brim with explosions and violence, Just Cause 3 places you in the role of Rico Rodriguez as he goes on a rampage of destruction and hilarious physics. Unfortunately there is some bad news: South American PS+ owners will not be getting Just Cause 3. Instead they will get space dogfighting game Strike Vector EX, an updated rerelease of Strike Vector that adds in a single player campaign.
The second PlayStation 4 game is Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry. A stand alone expansion to the popular Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Freedom Cry lets you play as former slave Adéwalé in a story that takes place 15 years after the main game. It's a bite-sized version of Black Flag, having similar content but at a much smaller scale.
PlayStation 3 owners will be getting two indie games in the form of Super Motherload and Snakeball. Super Motherload has you digging into Mars' soil to find valuable items while trying not to get yourself killed. The game was originally a PlayStation 4 launch title but was brought to other platforms later. Snakeball is a sports game where your goal is to pick up balls littered around the arena (which will trail you, similar to the original Snake) and bring them back to your goal while using power-ups to prevent the enemy team from doing the same.
Last but not least, the PlayStation Vita is getting Downwell and Level 22. If you enjoy platformers, then Downwell may be your kind of game. Giving you the goal of going down a giant well, the game features a nice retro aesthetic and soundtrack to keep you entertained while you continue to fall. Thanks to cross buy, PlayStation 4 owners can also pick up Downwell. Finally, there's Level 22, a stealth game taking place in an office. You'll play as Gary, a man late to work who needs to sneak pass his bosses and co-workers to make it look like he was always there.
There's even more available this month for PS+ owners. Free to play spaceship battle game Dreadnaught will start its open beta on the Ps4 on August 1st, and starting on the 15th all PS+ owners can get a free $20 pack of in-game items. Users with PS+ can also get their hands on Doom, which will be free for them to try from July 27th until July 30th, and will be 50% off until August 3rd. Finally, last month's bonus game That's You! is still available to grab for free through August.
Not into video games? I'll save the question as to what you're doing here for another time, but PS+ users also get a bonus when it comes to movies. Starting this week PS+ users can rent a movie for the low price of 99 cents. Six weeks of movies are planned out, but you can rent The Lego Batman Movie today. After that you can grab Logan, Power Rangers, Kong: Skull Island, Boss Baby, and Ghost in the Shell over the next five weeks.
All of these games will be available on the first Tuesday of August, which will be August 1st. This means it's your last chance to grab the current line-up of PS+ games, which would be Killing Floor 2 and Life is Strange for the Ps4, Abyss Odyssey and WRC 5: World Rally Championship for the Ps3, and Neon Chrome and Spy Chameleon for the Vita.
