Fuuka & Mitsuru in Combat in Persona 3 Reload

Today Atlus released a large gallery of screenshots and plenty of details about the upcoming JRPG Persona 3 Reload.

We get to see the new artwork for the S.E.E.S. Combat Uniform and the Personas of Mitsuru Kirijo, Akihiko Sanada, and Fuuka Yamagishi.

On top of that, we learn more about the Towering Labyrinth Tartarus. At the dark hour between one day and the next, the Labyrinth appears, and it has been improved beyond the visuals in Persona 3 Reload, with updated gameplay.

Players will be able to dash to traverse faster and heal up the whole party with a single button thanks to the Auto-Recover feature.

Within the labyrinth, you can find breakable objects that will yield recovery items, sellable materials, and Dusk Shards that can be used to open locked treasure chests, which include powerful rewards.

After battles, party members may offer to scout ahead. If you give them leave to do so, they will split from the party and search for a route to the next floor. After you catch up with them, they will give you the items they have found.

You may even find missing people in the Labyrinth, and they will reward you if you rescue them.

We also hear about Shuffle Time, which is a bonus round that may appear after battles. When that happens, you'll be able to draw cards granting buffs and Personas. You can even draw a Major Arcana card that will grant you a powerful buff that lasts for the whole day.

If you collect all the Major Arcana you can trigger an Arcana Burst effect, which levels up the minor cards increasing their effects and their duration to the whole day, making exploration easier.

If you encounter one of the massive Monad Doors you'll have to fight powerful shadows, but you'll be rewarded with rare treasure chests and special Major Arcana cards.

Beyond certain Monad Doors, you'll find Monad Passages, and within them, you can find even stronger shadows, but defeating them will grant powerful weapons, character costumes, and other rare items.

Speaking of costumes, you can change them freely when you're within Tartarus, including school uniforms, combat gear, butler uniforms, swimsuits, and more.

You can also find rare golden shadows that will attempt to escape when they see you. Killing them will grant lots of experience and money. If you see a big one, make sure to defeat it, as it has stolen all the treasure on the current floor. If you're successful you'll get money, experience, and all the loot.

Remaining on a floor too long will trigger the appearance of the Reaper, which is a powerful enemy against which success is unlikely. It's advisable to run when it appears.

There is a clock at the entrance of Tartarus that can fully heal your party members’ HP and SP at the cost of seven Dusk Shards.

Fuuka has unique out-of-combat Navi skills that can help with exploration. Jamming blocks the Shadows' ability to detect you. Shock Noise temporarily Distresses all Shadows on the floor, while Sylphid Aura buffs all party members. Of course, her skills use SP like all other skills.

We also meet more characters who you can establish social links with including the Telemarketing CEO President Tanaka (voiced in English by Patrick Seitz), the Unconventional Monk Mutatsu (voiced by Aaron Laplante), the Track Team Rival Mamoru Hayase (voiced by Yong Yea), the MMO Buddy: Maya, the Child of a Broken Home Maiko Oohashi (voiced by Grace Lu), the Terminally Ill Young Man Akinari Kamiki (voiced by Lucien Dodge) and the Bookstore Owners Mitsuko Kitamura (voiced by Susanne Blakeslee) and Bunkichi Kitamura (voiced by Andre Sogliuzzo).

Incidentally, characters you have forged social links with may send you text messages after school asking you to hang out. You can reach their location quickly simply by selecting the option directly in the message.

You can check out all the images below.
