Atlus has released a new Persona 3 Reload trailer, in which we're introduced to the antagonistic Strega group of Persona users.

As the trailer's voiceover says, Strega is a "new threat" to the SEES group; they can use Personas just like you and your friends can, but they're far from heroic.

Strega is trying to stop you and SEES getting to the bottom of the Dark Hour mystery; they're both afraid of what will happen if it vanishes and reluctant to let go of their newfound Persona-summoning abilities.

While the group seems sinister, there might be a little more going on beneath the surface. You'll have to play Persona 3 Reload in February to find out.

As well as Strega, the new Persona 3 Reload trailer also spotlights the game's rather endearingly goofy sense of humor.

During the protagonist's time spent with Velvet Room assistant Elizabeth, for instance, we see her running the wrong way up an escalator and composing a particularly tuneless (yet rather sweet) song.

We also get to see Akihiko making pancakes, upon which Aigis declares that it's "pancake party time". It looks like Persona's signature sense of camaraderie among your group will remain intact for this remake.

Persona 3 Reload is an upcoming remake of the PS2 cult classic RPG Persona 3

Announced back in June alongside Persona 5 TacticaPersona 3 Reload features reworked graphics, music, and performance, and it'll also boast expanded story scenes.

It won't include the epilogue that Persona 3 FES had, though, and you also won't be able to play as a female protagonist like you can in Persona 3 Portable.

Either way, Persona 3 Reload launches for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on February 2nd. It'll also be available via the Xbox Game Pass service for both PC and console on day one.
