In Path of War command a rebel militia fighting against a corrupt military regime. Set in a bleak and not-so-distant future of the United States, players will race from the Pacific Ocean to Washington D.C. to take back control of the nation’s capitol. As players work to stabilize and rebuild the broken country they’ll have to fight other players along the way.
“Path of War is the culmination of years of creating games that mesh living game worlds, open alliance systems, strategic base building and tactical PVP combat.” said Dirk Ringe, CEO of Envision Entertainment. “We’ve worked closely with Nexon to refine the gameplay and to build an experience that will last for years to come. We cannot wait to see the chaos flare up between alliances as they race across the map to claim D.C!”
A 1:1 scale map of the United States serves as the game board in which players will move their mobile base and engage in PVP skirmishes. The game features deep base-building mechanics and fast-paced tactical battles. High-tech bases will be completely designed by players and can be expanded and upgraded as they journey Eastward.
“Envision Entertainment has helped to create unforgettable free-to-play experiences with established franchises like Command & Conquer and Ultima, which we’ve all personally sunk hundreds of hours into,” said John Robinson, General Manager at Nexon M. “The persistent living world they’ve built in Path of War adds an entirely new dynamic to faction-based multiplayer games on mobile that will keep you on your toes every time you sign on.”
To succeed in Path of War players will need to expand their territory. Territory can be gained by attacking enemy encampments, collecting base upgrades and valuable loot and defense bonuses. Players will be able to forge alliances to hold larger territories and defend them with a large selection of weapons, infantry and armored vehicles.
