The Xbox One X is not too far off and Microsoft has started their deluge of information in the run up to gamescom. Microsoft's very proud of the hardware capabilities behind the Xbox One X, which they boast is 40% more powerful than any other console, and now they have announced a list of select titles that will take full advantage of the Xbox One X's capabilities. That list is so far over 100 titles strong with more to be added in the future.

There's not really a blanket description to how the Xbox One X's enhancements will affect each individual game, as they are all different and will put the new power of the console towards what they see fit. However, each title will make use of more graphical processing and the larger amount of memory to make their games look and run better.

The full list of the 100 games being enhanced is linked above and includes some unreleased games. Some of the highlights include Bioware's upcoming Anthem, Crackdown 3, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV, Gears of War 4, Halo 5, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, The Witcher 3, and Wolfenstein II. As the post says, more games are expected to be added to that list in the future and it will be updated continually when they enhancements are confirmed from a publisher/developer.

Quick Take

I hope more developers value performance over graphical fidelity here, but I'm not too optimistic. Many of the games on the list already look pretty great but are stuck at lower framerates or have drops sometimes on console. Eliminating that would be great first and then improving graphics here and there without affecting performance would be awesome. However, I know that won't be the case across the board, but it would certainly be nice to see. I would also expect to see some developers in the future, particularly exclusive titles for Microsoft, detail exactly what the enhancements will be.

What do you think of the Xbox One X enhancements coming to some games? What sort of Xbox One X enhancements would you like to see? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
