Creative Assembly has released a new deep dive trailer showcasing more of the upcoming Mirror of Madness DLC. The DLC, which launches alongside the upcoming Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs pack on April 13th, will add two new game modes, and we've now got some more info about what those game modes will entail.

The Mirror of Madness DLC release date was unveiled yesterday, and now, to chase that announcement, a new trailer has been unveiled. The trailer shows how to access the new modes, as well as what you can expect if you fire them up. You can take a look at the trailer here.

Accessing the Mirror of Madness DLC modes is done via the main menu's Battle option. Here, you'll find both Trials of Fate and The Infinite Portal. In the former, you will play as a newly-ascended Demon Prince of Tzeentch, and you'll be fighting across four famous battles - Black Fire Pass, Hel Fenn, Fallen Gates, and Altar of Ultimate Darkness - in order to reach a final showdown with Kairos Fateweaver in the Realm of Tzeentch.

Each battle will revolve around a Shard, which is a point you must protect from increasingly numerous waves of enemies. Successfully defending the point and clearing waves will accrue the Forbidden Knowledge resource, which you can use to upgrade your abilities. Good performance in Trials of Fate will net you upgrades for Immortal Empires and Realm of Chaos, which will grant buffs.

The Infinite Portal, meanwhile, lets you customize many features of battles, including damage dealt, impact force, and leadership, as well as many other things. You can see many of these option tweaks in the trailer, where entire armies are held aloft by vortexes and then tossed to the winds. If you've ever dreamed of letting loose and seeing what Total War: Warhammer III's engine can really do, The Infinite Portal is for you.

Total War: Warhammer III is available right now on PC via Steam. The Mirror of Madness DLC launches as a free update on April 13th, alongside Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs (which is not free).
