The Total War: Warhammer III Mirror of Madness DLC now has a release date. Creative Assembly has revealed that the free DLC will arrive alongside Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs on April 13th and will bring two rather intense-sounding new game modes, one of which sounds particularly challenging even for experienced strategy heads.
Creative Assembly first revealed the Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC last month, as well as its April 13th release date. Now, we know that the Mirror of Madness DLC, which was first teased late last year and which will be completely free for all players, is arriving on the same day.
The first major addition in Mirror of Madness is the new Trials of Fate mode. Described by Creative Assembly as a "series of intense survival challenges", Trials of Fate will cast you as a newly-ascended Daemon Prince of Tzeentch, who must face iconic battles from the past culminating in a faceoff against Kairos Fateweaver. Through this mode, you'll unlock new Daemon Prince Parts that can be used in the Immortal Empires and Realm of Chaos campaigns. Not bad, eh?
As well as Trials of Fate, you're also getting The Infinite Portal, which "grants access to reality-bending features and settings", according to Creative Assembly. It's essentially similar in nature to Total War: Warhammer II's Lab; you can mess with parameters like unit size, explosions, and gravity, as well as other things. It's intended to let you go a little crazy with Total War: Warhammer III's core systems, so you'd better make sure you've got a beefy enough system to keep up with the increased strain.
Total War: Warhammer III's Mirror of Madness DLC will be released for free on April 13th, alongside the Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC (which is paid). You won't need to buy Forge in order to enjoy Mirror, and although Mirror has been created in conjunction with Intel, you also won't need an Intel processor to play it.
