The new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War menu is annoying fans of the franchise, essentially adding another layer of waiting before you can jump into the game. Furthermore, the latest Call of Duty game is on sale for a great price.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has just released a new patch. This patch does many of the things you'd typically expect — balance changes, gameplay tweaks, and so on. Unfortunately, it has also debuted a brand-new menu in the game — and not everyone is happy with it for obvious reasons.
Why the New Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Menu is Annoying Players
The problem with the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War menu is best emphasized in this discussion and this discussion on Reddit: simply put, launching any of the three modern Call of Duty games — Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, or Warzone — takes you to an additional menu where you subsequently have to choose again, for some reason.
"It would be cool if it loaded the main menu for the game that I opened instead of a main menu for 3 different games," read one critical comment on Reddit.
"Oh you opened cold war? You probably want to play MW!" read another comment dripping with sarcasm.
Presumably, the developers want to have a better-integrated, seamless experience between all three games. After all, content from both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is integrated into Call of Duty: Warzone. Unfortunately, this multi-game menu pops up even if you attempt to launch to one of the core Call of Duty games directly, somewhat slowing down the experience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is On Sale at an Early Discount
While this new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War menu may be disappointing to some players, today has also seen some happier news arrive: a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sale is going on for the next month.
As @Wario64 reports, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sale has reduced the price of the game to $39.99 for the Standard Edition (33% off) and $69.99 for the Ultimate Edition (22% off) on Blizzard Battle.net. A similar sale took place with Modern Warfare in its launch year back in 2019 and this discount is expected to last until early January 2021; if you haven't yet picked up this game on PC, now is probably the best time to buy it at a cheaper price.
