Update March 2nd 8:46AM: 24 Entertainment bamboozled us all, it seems. The crossover event is, in fact, with upcoming action-RPG Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which launches tomorrow. You can earn a Lu Bu mask in Naraka, and Wo Long is getting two outfits from Naraka as DLC. Guess you'll have to wait a little longer for that Nier crossover. Original story follows below.
Original story: A new Naraka: Bladepoint update is scheduled to arrive later today, bringing with it a "mysterious crossover event" that will give you the chance to earn limited-edition in-game rewards. The devs are remaining tight-lipped regarding exactly what this crossover content is, but it's almost certainly a collaboration that was announced late last year.
In December, a Naraka: Bladepoint x Nier crossover was announced via a rather flashy and swish trailer. We didn't get much more info regarding exactly what the collab would entail, but since no other crossover collaborations have been announced, it's reasonable to assume this upcoming update will add Nier-related content. Here's the trailer again if you wanted to refresh your memory.
According to the update's patch notes, we'll be getting rewards including an Accessory, a Mark of Victory, a background, and more. The event kicks off at 3pm Eastern and runs until March 23rd at 11am Eastern, so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the crossover content, whatever it might be. Again, we're not a hundred percent certain that this is the Nier crossover, but no other major collaborations appear to be on the horizon.
If the Nier collab (or whatever other crossover it turns out to be) doesn't interest you, then there's more in this update to enjoy besides. The limited-time Scrolls of CloudSparrow event is also being added, giving you the chance to earn rewards by obtaining Scroll Fragments. Rewards include a legendary outfit, a legendary Accessory Gift, and plenty more.
In addition, lots of smaller balance changes are also being implemented in this update. They include changes to the polesword and the staff, as well as the ability to knock the Showdown mode's new Matron of Yushan boss down to below 50% HP before she finishes her Ultimate cast. Make sure to read through the patch notes in full to see everything else that's changed!
Naraka: Bladepoint is available right now on PC and Xbox consoles. The new update will arrive tonight at 10pm Eastern after a period of server maintenance, so make sure to jump into the game after that period to test out the changes (although the crossover event won't begin until tomorrow).
