Capcom has announced a Special Program to celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of the Monster Hunter franchise.

In a post on the official Monster Hunter X (formerly Twitter) account, Capcom promises a celebration of all things Monster Hunter, as well as a reveal for the Monster Hunter community's top ten monsters of all time.

It is worth noting, however, that a followup post confirms the stream will feature no new game announcements, nor will it feature any news about the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds. You'll have to wait until summer for that.

Don't expect any news about Monster Hunter Wilds during the upcoming Monster Hunter 20th anniversary celebration.

If we were to put our pedantry hats on, we could note that this wording technically doesn't include remasters or remakes of old games, like the Monster Hunter Stories remaster announced during last week's Nintendo Direct.

As such, we could get an announcement for a remake of an older Monster Hunter game, or perhaps a port of a previous game making its way to modern platforms.

We may also hear something about the upcoming Monster Hunter Zoids collaboration, which will yield two Monster Hunter-themed Zoids models later this year. Is something on the way on Capcom's side as well? We'll have to wait to find out.

Is a Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin port on the way for PlayStation and/or Xbox? Time will tell.

It's a pretty good time to be a Monster Hunter fan right now.

Between the upcoming 20th anniversary celebrations, an impending new mainline installment in Monster Hunter Wilds, and plenty of collaborations and crossover eventsMonster Hunter fans are eating pretty well right now.

Capcom also recently revealed that Monster Hunter World has sold 23 million copies and Monster Hunter Rise has sold 13 million, while mobile game Monster Hunter Now has passed the 10 million download barrier.

We'll have to wait and see what Capcom has in store for the Monster Hunter 20th anniversary Special Program. Stay tuned for more on this and all other things Monster Hunter.
