Minecraft goats have arrived a little early as part of a new Bedrock beta release. The debut of the fluffy gruffs also marks an updated version of Minecraft experimental features.

It's been a big year for Minecraft. The Nether has been recently revamped to feature multiple biomes and that wasn't the only big surprise this year: the Minecraft Live virtual event revealed that the next update will improve the game's caves and cliffs. Goats will be making their debut as part of this forthcoming update, but players can play them today in a new Bedrock beta release.

Check out the Minecraft goats in action in today's tweet!

How to Get Minecraft Goats in Your Game Right Now

It should be noted that Minecraft goats aren't yet available in the Java edition of the game; this new beta is only available to gamers on the Windows 10, Xbox One, and Android versions of the game. With that established, here's how you get the goats into your game:

  1. Windows 10 and Xbox One players can opt into the beta via the Xbox Insider Hub app. Android players can opt into the beta via Minecraft's page on the Google Play Store.
  2. Opt into the beta for your platform.
  3. The game will update and download the beta.
  4. Create a new world.
  5. Go to Game Settings and turn on the "Caves and Cliffs" toggle under the Experiments heading.
  6. Your new world should have goats!

It should be noted that shifting to the beta will supersede your current game — this means that you'll be unable to join Minecraft Realms or join the games of any non-beta players. More details are available in the news post announcing the beta; you can find out what's in this new Bedrock Beta by reading its patch notes.

When is the Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Update Release Date?

There's still no update on the Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Update release date; for now, players should expect the next big Minecraft update to launch sometime in 2021.

Players still have plenty of content to enjoy in the meantime! Go ahead and have fun hopping into the Bedrock beta right now and get rammed off of a cliff by some Minecraft goats. If you haven't already bought this great game, you can get it on everything short of a Samsung Smart Fridge via the official Minecraft website.

What do you think of the early debut of goats in the Minecraft Bedrock beta? What would you like to see debut in a future beta update? Let us know in the comments below!
