Tomorrow is bringing a brand new Mario Strikers: Battle League update, adding two characters, a stadium, and a bunch of new gear to the arcade sports game. One new character is an offensive powerhouse, while the other is a balanced player with an emphasis on accurate passing.

Characters already added to Battle League via updates include Daisy, Shy Guy, and Diddy Kong. The latest update's first new character is Bowser Jr, described by a new trailer as a "balanced player who assists with accurate passes". In short, if you need the ball to get somewhere, Bowser Jr is your guy.

Your second new Mario Strikers: Battle League character is the iconic Birdo, who isn't particularly strong or speedy but who can fire "powerful and precise shots" right into the back of the net. Birdo is also shown firing a special that emits waves to knock over opponents as the ball travels towards the goal.

Birdo and Bowser Jr are joining the roster of Mario Strikers: Battle League tomorrow.

As well as the two new characters, this latest update is also adding Shellfish Gear, which you can equip to augment your characters' speed and technique stats. A new Urban Rooftop stadium is also being added to give you a different place to duke it out with your opponents. You can either play quick games in this stadium or set it as your club stadium.

This free update for Mario Strikers: Battle League arrives tomorrow, so make sure to check for it if you're firing the game up. You can buy Mario Strikers: Battle League right now for Switch, either physically or via the Nintendo eShop. There's also a demo available for the game if you want to decide whether it's for you or not.

This update is the last in a series of three due this year, and according to a Nintendo Europe tweet, it's also the final free update for the game. That does, of course, leave the door open for paid DLC to add more substantial content, but you won't be seeing any more free characters or stadiums. Stay tuned for more on this game.
