The twelfth and final Overwatch League team (and the second team to represent LA) has been revealed as the Los Angeles Gladiators according to a news post on the league's official website.
The Gladiators have a somewhat regal theme throughout. Their logo is a stylized lion which also happens to echo the logo of the Los Angeles Rams; the Rams are owned by Stan and Josh Kroenke, the fine folks who own this professional Overwatch team. The team is named for the fighters of ancient Rome who were well-known for their prowess in battle - certainly a good mindset for a competitive esports team.
Every team in the league gets a custom skin for one of the game's various heroes. The Gladiators are represented by Reinhardt who will be putting the hammer down in style for LA's second team in Blizzard Entertainment's attempt to create a professional esports league from the ground up. Reinhardt is clad in the team's colors of purple and white, the colors of the Roman emperors of old. The skin also features black accents.
The Los Angeles Gladiators is the last team to be named for the Overwatch League which is beginning its first season at the start of next year. The team's name was one of many revealed in a trademark filing a couple of weeks ago. The preseason for the league starts on December 6, 2017, with the regular season to follow on January 10, 2018. You can keep up with the Gladiators by following them on Twitter and Facebook.
