Juri and more available for Street Fighter V on 26th July

Street Fighter 4 fan favourite Juri and extra DLC premium costumes will be available to download and buy with both in-game and real currency for Street Fighter V on the 26th of July.

Juri will be purchasable for $5.99 / € 5.99 / £4.99 or the in-game earnable equivalent of 100,000 fight money. There will also follow three 'premium' DLC costumes for Cammy, Ibuki, and Laura. these costumes will only be purchasable with real money priced at $3.99 / €3.99 / £3.29  each.

Juri has already been playable for a month exclusively in the story mode. This little taster for both her and Urien gave players a teaser of what’s to come with the last 2 months of this DLC season.

From the little I've played of the unfinished version of Juri in the story mode, it seems a lot about her has been changed. She no longer sports the dive kick and two of her three projectiles from Street Fighter 4. On top of this, she now boasts a completely different outfit, swapping her dudou for a tight fitting shiny leather bodysuit and an eyepatch. She will also be receiving two alternate costumes, her story costume and a premium costume only purchasable with real currency.

Her move set has seen a lot of changes. whilst a lot of her normals, wheel kick and ground projectiles remain intact, she has a whole different array of special moves in V-Trigger.

Juri's new V-skill ‘Kasatshushu’ is perhaps the most interesting thing about her. It takes the form of a chargeable rush attack that hits the opponent from in front and then behind. The crucial thing about this V-skill is that it is cancellable by dashing in either direction or tapping the V-skill button again immediately after releasing it. I can see this working similar to Makoto's hayate from Street Fighter: 3rd Strike and Street Fighter 4. The ability to charge a hayate and cancel it was a crucial aspect of Makoto's game plan and allowed you to bait attempted reversals or fake out the opponent.

With her V trigger we see the return of Juri’s Street Fighter 4 Ultra attack, the ‘Feng Shui Engine’. This functions basically the same as her Street fighter 4 variant, allowing all standard attacks to be cancelled into one and another. Additionally, the V-Trigger completely changes Juri's special moves which can again be cancelled into one another allowing for some devastatingly cool do-it-yourself combos.

Juri and premium summer costumes for Cammy, Ibuki and Laura will be available for purchase on the 26th of July.
