Gran Turismo Sport has been delisted from the PlayStation Store, meaning you can no longer purchase the game digitally.

The delisting was first spotted by Reddit user MrBillz, whose post also included a screenshot of the PlayStation Store listing for the game.

When visiting the Gran Turismo Sport PlayStation Store page, no option to purchase the game is available. There's an option to add it to your wishlist, but given that online service is ending soon, I wouldn't recommend doing so.

This is noteworthy largely because Sony and Polyphony Digital did previously announce the shutdown of Gran Turismo Sport's online servers, as well as the cessation of DLC sales, but not the delisting of the game itself.

Gran Turismo Sport is no longer purchasable on the PlayStation Store.

In the original post announcing the shutdown of Gran Turismo Sport's servers, Sony and Polyphony Digital say that the "online services" of the game will end on January 31st, and that DLC sales would cease on December 1st.

However, they don't explicitly state that the game will also be removed from sale on the PlayStation Store in the ensuing FAQ.

It's important to note that if you have previously purchased Gran Turismo Sport, you can still download and play it with no problem, as is the case with most delisted PlayStation Store items.

Additionally, buying a physical copy of the game will, of course, still allow you to play it, although you won't be able to access the online component after January 31st.

You can still play Gran Turismo Sport offline, although the jury's out on whether you can save your progress or not.

The single-player component of Gran Turismo Sport will, however, remain operational, including career progression, unlockable vehicles and tracks, and more.

Games are often delisted from storefronts, and for a variety of reasons. Common motives for delisting include licensing issues, problems with DRM, and newer games being seen as sufficient replacements for older titles.

Naturally, since Sony hasn't actually announced the delisting of Gran Turismo Sport, a reason for the game's removal also hasn't been given, although we can guess that the existence of the newer Gran Turismo 7 is likely a motivating factor.

We've reached out to Sony for official comment on this story and will update as soon as we hear anything.
