While yesterday's The Game Awards had a heap of great announcements, there's also recently been some unfortunate news for Final Fantasy fans — Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition is being delayed.
If this remake of a great game has somehow slipped past your radar, you should check out this trailer to see the new look:
The release date for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition was originally intended to be January 23, 2020. The game was first announced all the way back in 2018 and has been in development since then, culminating in the developers announcing the release date back in September of this year.
Now, it seems that the developers are going to need a little more time to get things right — they're pushing back the release date for Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition to sometime in Summer 2020.
Why Was Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition Delayed?
"Since announcing #FinalFantasy CRYSTAL CHRONICLES Remastered Edition, we’ve read so many positive messages filled with encouragement, and all of us on the team would like to thank you for the support you’ve shown us so far," began a thread on the official Final Fantasy Twitter account. "Today we’re announcing that the release date for the game is being moved to Summer 2020. We’ve made the decision to adjust the release date to allow the development team some extra time to make final adjustments to the game to make this the best experience possible."
No specific release date has been announced otherwise. You'll be able to get Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS sometime in the middle of next year.
