Escape from Tarkov Patch 0.14

Battlestate Games released today a new update for its popular extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov, numbered 0.14.0.0, and it's a pretty big one.

The crown jewel of the update is a new urban area named "Ground Zero" intended for beginners between levels 1 and 20, with PMCs of higher levels simply blocked from entering. On the other hand, Scavs will have access at any level.

It'll include new starter quests, and it's located in the city center of Tarkov.

A new boss named Kollontay now roams his territory in the streets of Tarkobv with a small number of goons, while the existing boss Kaban will be joined by his closest associates, Basmach and Gus.

The Shoreline area has been reworked and new weapons have been added as follows:

  • KBP 9A-91 9x39 compact assault rifle;
  • KBP VSK-94 9x39 rifle;
  • SIG MCX SPEAR 6.8x51 (.277 FURY) assault rifle ;
  • Degtyarev RPD 7.62x39 machine gun;
  • Degtyarev RPDN 7.62x39 machine gun;
  • Updated the models and animations for Simonov SKS 7.62x39 carbine.

Another pretty relevant change is the addition of achievements to the game, alongside the "Hall of Fame" area in the Hideout, where you can display your trophies, including enemy dog tags, which will even provide a bonus to combat skill leveling.

Armor and hitboxes have been overhauled, alongside vaulting and obstacle traversal and the addition of the ability to change your weapon shoulder.

There are plenty more changes on the menu, and you can find them all on the official patch notes, which are very extensive.

You can also watch a trailer that shows plenty of views of the new Ground Zero area and more.

It's worth mentioning that the update comes with a database wipe, but the progression of the sister game Escape from Tarkov Arena won't be affected.

Escape from Tarkov is developed by Battlestate Games and it's available in early access only on PC via the developer's official site. If you'd like to learn more, you can read about the previous update.
