In a surprise announcement, Ubisoft showed a cinematic trailer for Tom Clancey's Ghost Recon Wildlands. The game's focus will be the seemingly impossible task of stopping drug trafficking in South America and beyond. An open world alongside gadgets like drones should provide numerous opportunities to 'raise chaos' for your foes. Story elements in the trailer show that causing conflicts within the cartels may be the only way to defeat an 'enemy who does not fear death'. The development effort will be led by Ubisoft Paris, with collaboration from 5 other studios.
The game also has a day and night cycle and a weather system, staples for the open world genre of games such as this. Ubisoft is indicating that there are hundreds of villages, legends, and landmarks that can be explored with a variety of vehicles in the 3 main ways of travel (land, sea, air). The games setting takes inspiration from the beauty of South America in particular with its visuals, and somewhat rough yet calming nature.
You ready for another Ghost Recon game? Do you think you'd be interested in the open world that its talking about, or is it to like games from before such as Just Cause 2?
