The Dune: Spice Wars roadmap has just been released after just under a month of its Early Access release, and with it comes news of what to expect this summer and presumably later this year. The roadmap includes information about multiplayer, a new faction, new buildings and units, and hero units. That's not all-there's more updates to be announced-but it's what Shiro Games are able to talk about right now, teasing that there's more to come. Considering their other RTS, Northgard, is still receiving updates after over four years, we could be receiving Dune: Spice Wars roadmaps for a while. So, let's get into it, shall we?
What's in the Dune: Spice Wars roadmap?
The roadmap itself is fairly barebones: just a sentence or two about each new update. Still, the news is bound to be fairly exciting for Dune: Spice Wars players, particularly the multiplayer update that's coming this summer. It will include two modes: co-op, and free-for-all versus player modes. Up to four players will be able to play at the same time, which makes sense considering the lore and how this game is played-there can only be so many factions. As for the new playable faction, there isn't much information. It's coming this summer along with a new victory condition, and that's all we know so far.
That's everything coming this summer, but what's also announced is the Air & Sand update that will expand the game's warfare presumably sometime this year. New units coming with the update include spaceports, ships, and other advanced units. The Heroes of Dune is also coming, with iconic characters from Dune to be added to the game as hero units. They can be both special agents of fighting units with unique abilities.
