A new Destruction AllStars hotfix has arrived, fixing an annoying issue that was present in the game on launch: voice chat is now muted by default across the board, saving players the annoyance of having to listen to everyone in the lobby.

Destruction AllStars is a demolition derby game filled with a colorful cast of characters. It was first revealed last year during Sony's "The Future of Gaming" event as part of the lead-up to the launch of the PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, the game ended up being delayed and pre-orders were refunded — but Sony did its loyal games a solid and promised to launch it as part of PlayStation Plus in early 2021.

The game has since launched earlier this month. As promised, it was one of the February 2021 PlayStation Plus games, but players of this new demolition derby game quickly discovered a serious problem: voice chat was on by default and there was no apparent way to turn it off.

That's exactly why the developer Lucid Games just released the Destruction AllStars Hotfix 1.2.2. This hotfix only does two things: it fixes a few client crashes and disables multiplayer voice chat by default.

How to Turn Off Destruction AllStars Voice Chat

Despite this update, turning off Destruction AllStars voice chat is a little unintuitive for players. Thankfully, someone on Reddit shared the solution: press the PlayStation Button and press Square. That's it.

This Destruction AllStars hotfix has immediately solved one of the game's more annoying problems with voice chat, but Lucid Games still isn't done; it's pledged to continue to improve the game's voice chat system in the coming weeks. Naturally, we can probably expect other updates and improvements to the game as well.

If you haven't yet jumped into this new PS5 game, you can get Destruction AllStars with your PlayStation Plus membership for the month of February. You can start a new membership (or refresh your existing one)  in 12-month3-month, and 1-month increments.
